| Councillor Davy Hynes
Davy Hynes is a hard working Councillor on the Wexford Borough Council.
"I have worked tirelessly on behalf of the people of Wexford since first becoming a member of Wexford Borough Council in 1997" says Cllr. Hynes.
" I understand the problems faced by people working and trying to 'make ends meet' in the aftermath of the 'Celtic Tiger'. We see clearly now when after having squandered the boom and when it came to prioritizing as to who should shoulder the main burden for the financial mess we find ourselves in. In the recent budget it was not the bankers and builders that was asked to pay but the old, the young and the low paid''
"I have been a socialist and trade unionist since my teens. I worked in Wexford Electronix Ltd, Wexford ( formally Smiths Eng. Ltd) for 32 years until made redundant ( (along with 360 of my fellow workers) when the company went into receivership in 2001. Since 2003, I have worked in the Cornmarket Project ( a substance misuse project in Wexford town) as a 'drugs' project worker, I come in daily contact with people who are left on the margins of our society''.
"It was a great honor for me to be elected Mayor of Wexford in 2004 and as first citizen of this historic borough represented the Labour party and the people of Wexford with pride and always respected the dignity of the office. Finally I am very pleased, once again to be elected by the people of Wexford in the recent local election in 2009"
