LABOUR TARGETS TWO DAIL SEATS IN WEXFORD
29 November 2010
STATEMENT BY BRENDAN HOWLIN TD
Labour TD for Wexford
At the Wexford Labour Selection Convention last Friday (26th November), two candidates were selected to contest the forthcoming General Election, Deputy Brendan Howlin and Cllr Pat Cody.
The packed convention was chaired by Deputy Roisin Shortall, who expressed confidence that Wexford would elect two Labour TDs in the next election and form part of the largest parliamentary group in the next Dáil.
Deputy Howlin welcomed Pat Cody to the ticket and said he too was confident that the next election would change the political landscape of the country. It was imperative, Deputy Howlin said, that constituencies like Wexford, with a long Labour tradition, would return two Deputies and ensure that Eamon Gilmore was elected as the next Taoiseach.
Cllr. Pat Cody was first elected to Wexford County Council and Enniscorthy Town Council in June 2009.
